Component Pricing
The SCADASCOPE Radio/WiFi Gateway costs $299.00, the Master Controller and all Sensor Controllers cost $199.00 (AUD) each, regardless of whether they are mains or battery powered. The SCADASCOPE 3G Internet Gateway costs $399.00 and requires an ongoing monthly charge to provide GSM network access - contact us to confirm on-going pricing but budget for around $20.00 per month.
Customising the gateway, controller and sensor units to your requirements is a matter of adding the appropriate sensors, switches and control units.

Component Descriptions and Applications
Pressure Sensors
SCADASCOPE supports two types of pressure sensors, to accommodate battery or mains powered iterations of the sensor control units. Battery operated units require the linear 5 Volt sensors, which operate on ultra-low power and provide highly accurate readings. The standard linear sensor has a 0 to 240 psi range but other ranges as low as 50 psi and up to 400 psi are available upon request.
Mains Powered SCADASCODE units can use either the Linear sensor, or the 4-20 mA type sensors that are common in many industry applications. Where 4-20 mA type sensors are used a second power source, must be provided for the sensor if it requires greater than 12 volts to operate.
The SCADASCOPE Solid Sate Switching Controller
This unit is an intelligent switching module for controlling the SCADASCOPE magnetic pulse solenoid valves or any DC operated external device that that operates using up to 60 volts / 2 Amps. Motor speed control is not supported at this time – but directional control is available.
For AC mains or higher voltage control the Solid Sate Switching Controller supports practically any coil or solid state relay operation, though application will be a custom development and subject to charges outlined on the Services page.

Magnetic Pulse Solenoids
SCADASCOPE fully support magnetic pulse relay and solenoid technology as it is readily applicable to ultra-low power solutions. The SCADASCOPE Magnetic Pulse solenoids can be Nylon or Brass fittings – in either ½ or ¾ inch port configuration. These may be used with either battery or mains powered SCADASCOPE control units.
SCADASCOPE Switch Monitor Module
Allows you to use SCADASCOPE to monitor the state of physical switches, like Differential Pressure Switches, Light Sensitive UV switches and just about any mechanical or solid state switch you need. The SCADASCOPE Switch Monitor is integrated into your Cloud Control Panel to provide email or SMS alerts when the switch is engaged.

Support Allowance
Each SCADASCOPE unit comes with 30 minutes free phone / email support for setup and commissioning – that means 30 minutes for every Radio/WiFi Gateway, Master Controller or Sensor Controller module you buy. The support is non-consecutive, so if you talk to us for 10 minutes, you still have 20 minutes left for any other questions. In most cases this will be more than enough to install and commission your SCADASCOPE solution, with time left over for any questions you may have after you’re up and running. The hours of availability for your Support Allowance are detailed on the Services Page.
Support Allowance

How it works:

Control Functions
Control Functions are used when SCADASCOPE remotely controls a device to perform a task other than monitoring pressure or flow. A good example is the magnetic solenoid bypass system depicted in the How it Works page example, where pressure conditions identify a choking filter and the system reverses flow through a solenoid pair to bypass it.
Control Functions require the Solid State Switching Controller or Switch Monitor Module to operate and are defined as Conditional Responses or Unconditional Responses.
Conditional Responses
Conditional Responses are automated responses triggered by conditions set in the Control Panel. For example, if differential pressure across a water filter exceeds 15 psi – turn on a solenoid valve to bypass the filter.
Unconditional Responses are instances where the response is triggered by user command and require an internet button to operate. So if you get an email suggesting you have a choked filter, you log into the control panel and click on an internet button that will engage the solenoid valves to bypass it.
Control Function Pricing
SCADASCOPE include setup of a Control Function free of charge with your Switching Controller or Switch Monitor Module. If you require additional Control Functions from the same controller we charge a flat fee of $50.00 for each additional Conditional Response and $80.00 for each Unconditional Response where the device being controlled is a SCADASCOPE supplied product or if the control device is a 3rd party product that we have previously commissioned for you.
Control Functions for 3rd party Devices
If you have a pump, motor or actuator you want to operate using SCADASCOPE, we provide an hour of phone / email support (on top of your Support Allowance), including liaison with the product provider (where possible ) to get it working with our Switching Controller or Switch Monitor Module.
In some instances we may need to acquire the product for testing, in which case transport or acquisition of the product by SCADASCOPE must be covered by you.
If it takes longer than the time allotted to you as Support Allowance to confirm an operational configuration for your 3rd party device additional work will be subject to the fees outlined on the Services Page.
Configuration Changes
If you want to change the operational conditions of your control devices after initial installation, SCADASCOPE charge a flat fee of $80.00 for reconfiguring and testing all cloud functions and to test the new configuration if it includes our magnetic pulse solenoids – or if the control device is one that we have previously commissioned for you.
If you are changing the actual control device our charges to get you going will be as per the fees outlined on the Services Page.

System Overview
This Simple Filter Choke Monitor is an ultra-low power battery operated system using a pressure switch that is calibrated to engage when water is flowing - if it is, the SCADASCOPE Master Controller takes a reading from the Pressure Sensor. When the Pressure switch is disengaged (indicating that water has stopped flowing) the Controller takes another reading to determine Static Pressure. By a regular comparison of the dynamic and static pressure an email or SMS alert can be triggered when the pressure differential suggests the filter media is choking.

A More Complex Commercial Solution
System Overview
This is a multi-sample point system with volume metering and a magnetic solenoid purge valve. The system is based on the SCADASCOPE 3G Internet Gateway and is mains powered.
This configuration has an alert trigger for each of the filters, so the operator knows which particular filter media is choking by the differential pressure overhead. One of the filters has a chemical reduction type media that has a threshold for performance based on volume – the operator needs to know how many litres have passed since the last change and be notified by email when the volume limit is approaching. The multi-cartridge sediment filter also needs to be purged every 10,000 litres and the system needs to engage a solenoid purge valve at the earliest time after that limit has been passed that will not affect flow in normal operating hours. There are instances where water quality causes the multi-cartridge filter to choke prior to the purge cycle and a button on the control panel (accessible by computer, tablet or mobile phone) allows the operator to manually purge the system whenever they consider it necessary.
The basic SCADASCOPE components are the same as used in the previous examples but elements of the Cloud Pricing are applied to the complex operating functions. Being mains powered there is no need to change batteries at the sampling points and as the system communicates with the internet via 3G, there is no need for a local WiFi router.
